Part 1 of Developing a continuous Sense of Self

DISCLAIMER: This will be a very long article/project so I will likely be reading it in pieces. This is piece one, and If you prefer to read it all in one go I will link it here NULL once it's complete. I will post many Parts perhaps in the form of stubs like this.

So often, almost daily, I become disillusioned with another facet of meta-reality.

(NOTE: When I use the term meta-reality, I use it as a *fuzzy* identifier for that abstraction upon the "real" world. A. Headphones in at all times so her background to life is Drake's greatest hits and without it, life would be too dull. B. He watches a show during every errand, chore, or even spending time with his kids because that would mean facing his responsibilities sober. C. Any number of things/objects/stimulants/concepts/electronics/etc that I'm sure you are already thinking of.

A simple tool could be if your ancestor from even 200 years ago couldn't recognise, such as climaxing to pixels on a screen, that it is likely a subset of meta-reality.

Of course, this definition is not pure, hence the *fuzzy*, but it provides a solid basis for my work)

I quit video games two weeks ago, since I could do most of the things that made me hooked--leveling up, grinding, acquiring new tools, weapons, and skills, etc--since I could do these things in realse life.

I stopped watching television (mainly re-runs of my favourite shows) and movies (mainly re-runs of my favourite movies) since I simply used these to blanket other real things I was doing

(NOTE: The counter-argument I'm sure many have already used to judge my article likekly revoles around this "task" is relaxing, fun, helps me get through the day, etc is a misnomer from the part of your brain that loves stimulants and not your real self talk. Read on this topic here https://aryansuri.deno.dev/articles/dangers.html )

Yesterday, I decided to not use any stimulation for 4 hours before bed. To some this may seem like a non-issue,but to most of 25 and younger this is unheard of. Just think, when is the last day you have gone even 2 hours, forget even 24, without any meta-reality stimulation? (It has been so long for me, and no sleeping doesn't count)
