Pasta Bolognese
Disclaimer: This is not an authentic recipe, but it is a delicious one. Also, there are no true measurements for defined portions, but this should yield 2-4 portions depending on the man.
Ingredients:
*2 onions.
*1 knob of butter
*1 can of crushed tomatoes or pasta sauce.
*3 cloves of garlic.
*Fresh basil.
*Fresh or dried Oregano.
*Tomato paste.
*Cheddar or Mozzarella, not yet grated.
*Ground beef, preferably 80/20.
*Pappardelle pasta, or any pasta for that matter.
*Salt and Black Pepper.
*Olive Oil.
*Water for boiling
Protocol:
1.Dice the onions and garlic
2. Mix into the ground beef chopped basil, oregano, salt, pepper, and some olive oil (along with any other spices you desire)
3.In a pan, brown the meat along with a knob of butter.
4.Add to the pan: tomato paste, onions, and garlic.
5.After the onions clear and the meat is brown, add the tomatoes/sauce
7.Bring a large pot to boil, salt it like the ocean, and add some thyme perhaps.
8.Add the pappardelle to the pot and cook it to your liking (I prefer 2 minutes beyond al dente).
9.Drain the water once cooked, saving ~100 mL of the pasta water (I prefer only 50 mL). Add the cooked Bolognese to the pot with the pasta and the water and mix.
10.Serve with cheese grated on top and enjoy.
